Greetings,

This little space is what I like to call the Shadow Realm. I would say that the title was for the sake of being “edgy”, but that’s not the case. This little online realm is about what manifests in the dark areas of our minds and for the most part, controls most of our actions. This manifestation is what is regarded in both the world of psychoanalysis and the occult realm as the shadow. It is the purpose of this blog to expose this side of us, both individually and as a society. To bring it into wider awareness. As I generally like to say, to “call it out”. Though I can’t give it any perspective in a clinical perspective, I can do so through the eyes of an occultist. The means for achieving these call outs will be through straight opinion, through a poetry style known as haibun, or if I feel inclined, through short story. In a fair warning though, I could sprinkle a few other things in there from my experiences.

There is a small disclaimer here. These topics are hard for a great many. It challenges people’s perspectives of themselves, and of their long held societal beliefs. Many of you, may find yourselves offended, which will be understandable. As someone who confronts his own shadow all the time, I am often taken to places in my mind that I simply don’t want to be. I do my best not to argue in such cases but always welcome conversation. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t know everything and welcome being wrong.

I will also take suggestions, comments, and even contributions in the forms of stories, poems, etc. For now, I’ll try to update weekly though on occasion, may add a post or two early. With all that out of the way, welcome..
